Teenagers Antonio, Blue, and Lorenzo are outsiders in their small Italian town. Antonio is a rising star on his high school basketball team, but his brother’s death in a motorcycle accident left him silent and grieving, leading his teammates to taunt him for being stupid. Blue, a smart girl who got caught having sex with her boyfriend and three of his friends at the same time, is labeled a slut. Lorenzo was recently adopted into a loving family, but is taunted by his classmates for being flamboyantly and unabashedly gay. These three teens are tormented, bullied, and abused by their classmates, but they find in each other a friendship that brings light into their otherwise miserable lives, until a single kiss changes the trajectory of their lives forever.
With a deft touch, director Ivan Cotroneo brings lightness and levity to the heavy truths of adolescence and friendship, bullying and homophobia, and the models and patterns that keep us from finding our way to happiness.
